Sunflowers. Simple and pretty and always bring a smile.

The last days of this simple home grown artichoke really came out beautifully. I tried to capture it as best as I could and it's colors of purple and green are my favorite. I didn't want to eat it even though it was very large and probably very tasty. When I saw it starting to flower though, I questioned whether or not it would taste as sweet as it would so I let it flower more to enjoy it visually. I am very glad I did. It's been on my sink for the last couple of weeks and I've loved every day of its changing. Getting old can be a beautiful thing.

There are just a few more posts of trees for this month of July on the blog but I have learned to really like photographing them more than what I thought I would. I'm so used to photographing flowers and macros. But it's been fun getting out in the morning and evening with this project. To see more you can click the link in the bio. Thanks for stopping in 🙂

I think he likes me. He stayed around all day. Slept behind my desk chair, ate, got along with Mr. Murray too. He hopped up again in my herbs. I can probably kiss those goodbye, but he likes to watch what goes on in the kitchen. He ate from my hands today to. It's good to have company with feathers.

Two newbies for the old girl. A 35mm lens and some glass filters to play with for straight out of the camera photographing. I have 15 days to play and decide if I like them.

Palms. Today's photo on the 365 days blog is a palm 🌴. I couldn't seem to leave the palms out of the challenge for this month of photographing trees. I also had a hard time not changing it into black and white for the visual aspect of the shot. Hence the photo posted here but, I also posted the original photo which is on my 365 days blog for comparison. I like them both and with the wonderful greens that the Palm branches throw off to the light, it seemed to be perfect for a black and white photo fix.

Random colors in the garden last for moments it seems. I love these two colors together.

Let the light lift the moment.

Some who are not familiar with photo journaling may not know what “#” are used for here on this site. They are tags to “challenges” to photograph outside of the box from other photographers and writers. It is a way to get to know others in fields of interests and is quite fun and challenging at times.
